The Process Flow Of Hot Stamping

The hot stamping process uses the principle of hot-press transfer to transfer the aluminum layer in the anodized aluminum to the surface of the substrate to form a special metal effect. Because the main material used for hot stamping is anodized aluminum foil, the hot stamping is also called anodized aluminum hot stamping.

Process introduction

Anodized aluminum foil is usually composed of multiple layers of materials, and the base material is usually PE, followed by separation coating, color coating, metal coating (aluminum plating) and glue coating.

In the printing industry, hot stamping of electrochemical aluminum foil on paper is commonly used, which is called hot stamping. Hot stamping is a general term for a process. Bronzing does not mean that what gets hot is golden. There are many kinds of bronzing paper materials, including golden, silver, laser gold, laser silver, black, red, green and so on.

Product application

1. Ordinary gold, laser gold hot stamping. It can be used for hot stamping on most products, including gold cards, silver cards, laser cards and glass cards, and its application is more common.

2. Positioning holographic hot stamping. Holographic laser positioning anodized aluminum is a special process application in design, with corresponding anti-counterfeiting patterns, which can greatly improve the anti-counterfeiting ability of the product, and at the same time improve the grade of the product. This kind of electrochemical aluminum is generally produced domestically. Compared with foreign imports, the price is relatively cheap, but the bronzing performance is slightly worse. Holographic laser positioning anodized aluminum has a great relationship with the bronzing temperature, bronzing pressure and vehicle speed, and even the bronzing model.

3. The special application of anodized aluminum in the process. Hot stamping and then printing is a new idea in the cigarette label design and printing industry. The application of this process has high requirements for anodized aluminum. In addition to achieving accurate bronzing position, smooth and bright surface, balanced and uniform pressure, no blistering, no paste, etc., special attention must be paid to the edge of the bronzing pattern not to have obvious pressure The hot stamping anodized aluminum should have good adhesion on the hot stamping surface, and there should be no obvious scratches and scratches. Everyone knows that the bronzing process is actually a process in which the paper is heated and compressed. For white cards and glass cards, special attention should be paid to the protection of semi-finished products, and various unfavorable factors of paper deformation should be minimized during the production process. This will greatly help the smooth progress of the hot stamping process and the improvement of the product qualification rate.

Fabric bronzing process type

The fabric bronzing technology has developed rapidly in my country, but it was only after 2000 that it was put into mass production. With the rapid development of science and technology, the fabric bronzing process has become more and more mature, because the overall effect of the bronzing fabric is graceful and fashionable, and it has been favored by more and more beauty lovers.

With the continuous research and development and update of bronzing technology, fabric bronzing has been subdivided into industries. Taking bronzing equipment and bronzing methods as examples, there are generally two common types of bronzing equipment:

(1) Hot stamping of round pressed round fabric:

Both the bronzing plate and the relief plate of the bottom mold are cylindrical, and the two cylindrical rollers are in line contact. The relief plate of the bottom mold is generally made of silica gel with moderate hardness. This hot stamping machine is suitable for hot stamping of entire rolls of narrow rolled cloth strips. The advantages are: fast speed and high output. The bronzing paper used usually has its own bronzing adhesive on the back in addition to the metal coating. As long as the gold foil paper is selected properly and the performance of the bronzing machine is adjusted accurately, the fastness of the cloth strips after bronzing is basically acceptable.

But this thing also has a disadvantage. Because the fabric has more or less tension, the cloth strip and the bronzing paper are all moving at the same time during the hot stamping process of the whole roll of cloth strips. When doing multi-color hot stamping, It is not very good to control the accuracy of color registration. At this time, we can only take the second place and do a good job of single-color bronzing first to achieve the ultimate.

(2) Foil stamping for flat pressing and flat fabrics:

The more common hot stamping machines are: pneumatic hot stamping machines or manual hot stamping machines. The main components are composed of two upper and lower metal plates. When doing fabric bronzing, generally, the aluminum plate above heats up and moves downward. The pressure and time that need to be considered when bronzing depends on the height of the glue layer of the printed pattern and the temperature that the fabric can withstand. In most cases, the temperature is between 140° and 160°, the pressure is above 5kg, and the time is 10 seconds (reference value). If the temperature is too low, the bronzing fastness is not ideal; on the contrary, after bronzing, the cloth surface will become red (white cloth will turn yellow) and change color. If the pressure is too low, the fastness will be affected; if the pressure is too high, the pattern of the three-dimensional bronzing paste will collapse and lose the three-dimensional feeling.

When using this method to do fabric bronzing, there is a prerequisite: add bronzing glue on the screen plate, print the pattern you need on the surface of the fabric in advance, and then enter the bronzing machine to do the fabric bronzing after it is completely dry. After bronzing, set aside to completely cool down, tear off the waste gold foil→inspect→repair→package, and complete the fabric bronzing process.
